The Polish Deal is already in force
For two days, since 1 January 2022, the Polish Deal has been in force, which has significantly changed the tax reality.
– The changes introduced under the Polish Deal cover practically every group of taxpayers. Most novelties concern enterprises and entrepreneurs. It was decided to introduce completely new solutions, e.g. minimum tax on companies, as well as to change the already existing ones, e.g. regulations on withholding tax. We have both changes which are disadvantageous to entrepreneurs, such as new rules for paying and settling health contributions or the impossibility of depreciating residential premises, as well as changes which should help them, such as extending the scope of reliefs connected with the development of enterprises or the introduction of exemptions for Polish holding companies. The important thing is that there are a lot of changes, and there was really little time to implement them. Therefore, entrepreneurs must quickly learn how to operate in the changed legal conditions – comments Marcin Socha, tax adviser, manager at Thedy & Partners.
