Some rates must be changed in cash registers
From 1 February to 31 July it is necessary to change some of the rates in fiscal cash registers. It is an effect of the Anti-inflation Shield coming into effect and reduction of VAT on food, fuel or fertilizers.
– Obviously, the obligation to introduce these modifications concerns taxpayers who sell the aforementioned goods and keep records in cash registers. In particular, the key change will be the change of the rate for food, where zero VAT rate will apply to many products, which today are covered by the rate of 5%. These will be among others meat and fish, dairy products, vegetables and fruits, or cereals and products made of them, e.g. bakery products – points out Grzegorz Arczewski, Manager at Thedy & Partners.
At the same time he reminds that since on February 1 lower VAT rates will apply to some goods, on the same day Binding Rate Information (WIS) will expire, if taxpayers applied for such information regarding goods, which will be subject to reduction.
– The Ministry of Finance has issued an announcement, stating that the changes in VAT do not affect the classification of goods subject to WIS according to the Combined Nomenclature (CN) – it does not change. Moreover, if a taxpayer applies for a new WIS decision for goods for which the decision will expire due to changes in VAT rates, the National Fiscal Information will try to process these applications no later than within a month of their receipt – adds Grzegorz Arczewski.
