Polish Deal already passed by the Sejm
Last Friday, the Sejm passed an amendment that will introduce a number of tax changes under the Polish Deal programme.
We have been systematically reporting on the proposals contained in the Polish Deal since April, as soon as the ideas for the tax changes appeared. Now, however, these regulations are getting closer to entering into force.
– We have both favorable and unfavorable changes for taxpayers. On the one hand, the tax-free amount will be increased and the second threshold of the tax scale will be increased. On the other hand, the rules for settling health insurance contributions will change, which will translate into an effective increase in the tax burdens. Tax exemptions to support economic development will be extended or introduced, and companies will finally be able to create VAT groups. Unfortunately, in parallel, limitations of the neutrality of many reorganization activities and the recognition of specific costs are to be introduced – explains Michał Thedy, tax advisor, partner at Thedy & Partners
In the Sejm, 235 MPs voted for the amendment. Against was 217. The project will now go to the Senate.
We will keep you informed about the next stages of work on this project. We invite you to follow our website: www.thedy.pl and our account on LinD.
