The Act on automation of NFA (KAS) passed
Work on the draft Act on amending certain acts in order to automate the handling of certain cases by the National Fiscal Administration (KAS) is gaining momentum. On 28 April, the draft was passed by the Sejm.
Thanks to this act, online communication with the tax office is to be more accessible. What is more, it will be two-way. Many matters will be settled by computer.
The draft assumes automation of handling certain matters handled by KAS with the use of ICT systems. The e-Tax Collector’s Office system will replace the Tax Portal used so far by KAS. Communication via e-US (in the form of a portal or mobile application) will be, from a legal point of view, as important as performing activities in a traditional form.
eUS, used in contacts with KAS authorities, will be an information and transaction service for: taxpayers, payers, agents, bailiffs and notaries public. It will provide access to information related to taxes. It will also guarantee full transactivity – it will enable to settle tax issues online in a comprehensive manner, mainly those related to VAT, PIT and CIT.
Those using e-US will not have to pay stamp duty on issued certificates. We will also reduce the costs of foreign postal transfers concerning tax overpayments returned to taxpayers living outside Poland.
The new regulations will take effect 14 days after their publication in the Journal of Laws, with some exceptions.
