Over 400 Participants and 7 Industry Organisations – PPWR Webinar Series Wrap-Up
The Regulatory Team at Thedy & Partners has completed a series of webinars on the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), held jointly with seven organisations representing Polish businesses. More than 400 business representatives took part.
The past few weeks at the Regulatory Team of Thedy & Partners have been dedicated to a series of webinars on the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), delivered jointly with seven organisations representing Polish businesses:
- APPLiA Polska, the association of household appliance and HVAC manufacturers,
- the Polish Association of Wood-Based Panel Manufacturers,
- the Digital Poland Association,
- POLKARMA – the Polish Pet Food Manufacturers Association,
- the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers,
- the Polish Ceramic Union,
- the Polish Toy Association.
In total, more than 400 business representatives took part in the sessions, covering a wide range of industries and roles across the supply chain.
With little time remaining before PPWR becomes applicable, the same questions kept coming up throughout the webinars:
- does a given packaging fall under the new requirements at all,
- who qualifies as a producer, importer or distributor under PPWR,
- how to respond to inquiries from business partners,
- what information should be expected from suppliers,
- where to start preparations in order not to be caught off guard.
“During the sessions, we discussed how to translate the regulation into concrete business actions and how to prepare organisations for the new requirements without creating unnecessary disruption to operational processes. One observation came up every time: every industry faces its own specific implementation challenges, and there is no single universal preparation template,” comments the Regulatory Team at Thedy & Partners.
