Polish Governance: Financial institutions choose VAT taxation
Financial institutions are increasingly considering changing their headquarters. The choice falls also on Central and Eastern Europe. Hence the idea that VAT taxation is an option for them, according to the finance ministry.
Consideration of changing the seat of financial institutions is a result of the COVID pandemic and Brexit. Hence the MF’s idea to attract these institutions to our country within the framework of the Polish Order programme.
– According to the MF’s announcements, financial institutions – e.g. banks – would have the opportunity to choose VAT taxation. This is supposed to be an incentive to invest in Poland. Such option is already available in eight EU countries – points out Andrzej Kapczuk, tax advisor, partner in Thedy & Partners.
