From today, the treasury makes pre-completed PIT returns available
From 15 February, pre-filled tax returns for 2022 will be made available in the Your e-PIT service. The returns are completed by the tax administration on the basis of the information available to it.
Of course, it is not obligatory to accept the return completed by the office. This is an option for taxpayers. If, for example, a taxpayer would like to take advantage of some relief, it is sufficient for him or her to fill in the return on their own and submit it to the tax authority – whether electronically or by traditional means.
As part of your e-PIT, tax returns will be available:
– PIT-37 and PIT-38 (the most commonly filed),
– PIT-28 and PIT-36 with the exception of income from business activity and special divisions of agricultural production,
– PIT-OP statement on transferring 1.5% of tax to a public benefit organisation,
– a novelty will be the PIT-DZ – information on children’s data entitling them to a relief for 4+ families.
The return prepared in the service includes:
– information from payers, including PIT exemptions for persons up to 26 years of age, for families of 4+, for working seniors, for persons returning from abroad, deductions for trade union membership fees;
– information held by KAS such as taxpayer data and their micro-tax account, child allowance.
The time to verify, approve or modify the returns in the Your e-PIT service is until 2 May 2023 (30 April is a Sunday). If the taxpayer does not independently file a PIT-37 and PIT-38 return for 2022, it will be automatically accepted in the system on 2 May. This will ensure that the PIT will be filed on time even if the taxpayer takes no action.
The PIT-28 and PIT-36 returns will not be automatically accepted on 2 May, as they overwhelmingly require completion on the part of the taxpayer.
