FENG Grant Calendar for H2 2026 – Upcoming Calls Under the SMART Path and Dual-Use Technologies
FENG (European Funds for a Modern Economy) is opening new funding opportunities for companies planning R&D projects, implementing innovations, or developing solutions for the defense sector and dual-use technologies. Here's what to watch for in the coming months.
The coming months look particularly promising in terms of grant opportunities. The FENG programme is launching a new round of calls – both under the SMART Path and through new competitions dedicated to companies developing defense technologies and dual-use products.
SMART Path – upcoming calls:
- R&D activities (consortia) – operating cost grant (OPEX): 7 August – 16 October 2026
- R&D activities (SMEs) – OPEX grant: 29 October – 29 December 2026
- Implementation of R&D results (SMEs) – capital expenditure grant (CAPEX): 21 January – 16 March 2027
- Implementation of R&D results (large companies) – CAPEX grant: February – April 2027
New competitions for defense technologies and dual-use products:
- Forgivable loan for dual-use projects (SMEs) – CAPEX grant: 29 October 2026 – 28 January 2027
- Investment support for companies – CAPEX grant: November 2026 – January 2027
- Innovative projects for companies and consortia – OPEX grant: November 2026 – January 2027
- Projects supporting strategic independence for companies and consortia – OPEX grant: November 2026 – January 2027
