MF proposes entrepreneurs to move away from cash
The Ministry of Finance is working on the Cashless Taxpayer programme. Entrepreneurs who abandon cash payments will gain certain tax preferences. The programme is to start from 2022.
The programme is to be aimed at entrepreneurs and will include two options. The first will be the SILVER package. Within it, an entrepreneur will get a relief for the purchase of a payment terminal. Expenses for this purpose will be, firstly, included in full costs, and secondly, will be again deducted in 100% from income within the tax relief.
– It results from the announcement of the Ministry of Finance that the relief will cover many costs related to payment transactions, such as rental fees, interchange fees or system fees. The maximum amount of the deduction is PLN 1,000 per year, and in the case of taxpayers exempted from cash registers it will be PLN 2,500 – points out Adam Allen, tax advisor, partner at Thedy & Partners.
The deduction will be used by entrepreneurs who have not accepted non-cash payments using terminals for the last year and those who have benefited from the Poland Without Cash programme and will maintain accepting non-cash payments after the programme ends. Such taxpayers will be able to benefit from a tax relief for the terminal for up to 2 years from the time they started incurring the costs of handling payment transactions.
The second option is to be the GOLD Package. Here, the entrepreneur will be granted a Premium status, thanks to which he will gain unlimited relief for the terminal in the amount of 200%, and its maximum limit is PLN 2000 per year and VAT refund within 15 days.
